You know what really cracks me up? When I tell people I'm from Wisconsin, and they ask me if that's near "Mitch-igan". Okay, no, it's near Michigan. I don't know where this "Mitch-igan" is. I have a hard time keeping myself from laughing, and just pronounce it properly, hoping they pick up on it. It makes me feel better about not being able to pronounce anything and being the one with a weird accent.
(No, that isn't a sense of superiority you're smelling there. That's genuine amusement. "Mitch-igan" just sounds funny. Say it. It is funny, isn't it?)

Hi Lauren,
We saw Granny G yesterday and I printed out your blog which she absolutely loved! She is thinking of getting on line, but isn't sure about it so she's going to go to the public library and ask them to show her how to get to your blog. So maybe she'll be sending you a message some day, who knows? Your holiday trip sounds wonderful, do they say "going on holiday" over there? Do you notice alot of variations like lift for elevator, take away food instead of carry out, etc.?
Aunt E
Yeah, there are a lot of odd differences, but they aren't hard to get past. Sometimes I do wonder, though, if people actually understand what I'm saying or if they're just nodding to be polite. I know I have to ask people to repeat what they just said all the time!
Hello Aunt E and Lauren,
Aint' this a blast to be able to tri-communicate? To tell you the truth, I've never heard of Mitch-again and again. Only of Illi-noise. In fact, someone sent me a CD Illinoise by (I gotta go into the kitchen to retrieve the CD case because I can't remember the artist's name...and I have to find my reading glasses in order to see the artist's name -- getting older is a lot of work -- but I would never want to go back to the junior high years ((or middle school as it is called out here on the east coast)) nor any age for that matter). Alexi Murdoch. No relation to Rupert, thank God. Or I would feel that my mind is being taken over every time I listen to it just like the minds are being overtaken by the MSM.
