Farewell we call to hearth and hall!
Though wind may blow and rain may fall,
We must away, ere break of day
Far over wood and mountain tall.

Goals
I have a new goal for the year: learn how to properly boil an egg so the yolk isn't weird.

I like a fully cooked yolk with a tender white. Here's how I hard boil an egg.
1. Put the egg in cold (or room temp) water and turn on the heat, about medium to med-high. 2. Begin to time for 1 minute when it reaches a nice, rolling boil. 3. After 1 minute, turn off heat, cover pot, and let sit for 10 minutes. 4. Run under cold water, peel & eat.
Grandma Gaines's postmaster friend Ruth told me how to do this when I was in college. It works!
"Afoot and light-hearted I take to the open road,/
Healthy, free, the world before me,/
The long brown path before me leading wherever I choose."
--Walt Whitman, "Song for the Open Road"

Thanks! Just tried it tonight--it worked perfectly! Now, excuse me, I've got a salad to enjoy.
